For acrylic panel prints, it takes 24 to 48 hours to produce them if the artwork is ready to go. In the instance of having complex cut outs, such as 3d acrylic lettering printed or vinyl wrapped, the usual lead time is 5 to 7 days.
We have in -house specialized installers and a wide network of installers for nationwide projects. If you are after acrylic panels, you have the option of adding standoffs, panel mounts for easy installation doing yourself or hiring a handyman. Platinum Signs is a leading Australian manufacturer of acrylic signs. We do not stop just there though, as we are a full-service sign company.
The thickness ranges from 2mm to 40mm. The most popular for thicknesses, for large scale flat panel printing would be 3mm and 4.5mm. The 10mm thick boards are commonly used for reception acrylic and 3d cut lettering, along with 20mm thick sheets.
Black and white acrylic panels are very popular. We also work with several other colours. All basic ones such as blue, yellow, red, green, grey as well as special acrylic panels like gold, metallic, frosted, matte and fluorescent.
Cast opal acrylic is the right choice when the intention is to let light shine through for lightboxes and 3d illuminated signs. We certainly do this sort of work; it is one of our strongest selling products.
Absolutely. Clear acrylic signs are commonly used on reception signs to have the logo and lettering cut out applied only. It is also popular for 3d cut out lettering printed when there is a necessity to achieve specific colours for branding. We also do UV direct printing on clear acrylic panels. This gives a great sense of depth to the print, further enhancing the look and feel of the acrylic print.
Acrylic is fairly affordable, especially the thinner panels. They look great without a high-end price tag that comes along with other types of signs, such as metal ones. Simpler panels are more affordable than complex 3d lettering or custom acrylic sign projects.
It certainly is. We have unique projects that require very small prints, with as little as 50mm x 50mm, but also large-scale prints, combining multiple full sheet panels. The full standard sheets come in size of 1220mm x 2440mm. For custom projects, we can also work with panels up to 3000mm long.
Computer-assisted cutting with the use of laser or router services is one of our strongest points, from a simple geometric shape, such as a triangle, rounded panel. We also do intricate cuts for architectural projects, point of sale displays, 3d acrylic signs, and others.
The acrylic panels which are laser cut are; the router cut ones are not.
Acrylic is a sturdy, waterproof material, which can be installed outside. Cut out lettering should present no problems, and under awning acrylic lightboxes would be fine as well. We do not recommend the use of acrylic panels for panels which are fully exposed to the sun. For outdoor panels, long term application, we recommend ACM – Aluminium composite panels. For cut out lettering acrylic there is no problem with possible expansion of the material as the panels would have so that is doable to applied exposed to the sun. Each signage project is unique, and whether or not acrylic / Perspex is applicable, depends. Contact our design team and we can advise you.
Acrylic surfaces are printed directly on the surface with a special UV ink. This can be done on both sides to craft unique customized signage. It is possible to print all sorts of images including, letters, numbers, and symbols. It is even possible to print a fully coloured logo in addition to other images and photographs.

Yes, we can recommend the right equipment based on years of experience in the sign industry, and point out to the best suppliers. Please note, on busy roads, often the use of traffic controllers is a must and that should be factored in the costs for your signs and signage installation. Fortunately, as a top-rated sign company in Sydney, we have years of expertise with signage and understand the do’s and don’ts when it comes to building signage.
The cost of building signage can vary greatly, depending on the sizes involved; if you are after short-term vs. long-term materials, the complexity of the signs involved, being simple ACM panels, vinyl printing or outdoor large banners with a custom build frame or 3d illuminated signs…. give us a call to discuss or fill out the quick quote form so we can get back in touch. There are many options when it comes to building signage, and our sign team can help you with best-in-class options at affordable sign prices.
Yes, we work with safe and efficient equipment, defining the requirements on a case-by-case study. There are many factors that will be taken in consideration to decide on going with a ladder, a scissor lift or a boom lift or even build a scaffold if required. We have all the right contacts from the leading, cost-effective high reach solutions providers to assist with the task.
Of course, it depends. It will very a lot depending on what is involved. For example, simpler metal panels or vinyl printing is considerably faster to produce vs custom light boxes or LED signs or custom 3d lettering. It may be a matter of a week for simpler signage, such as ACM panels to be applied only, or 3-5 weeks for 3d lettering, depending on them being illuminated or non illuminated.
Yes, we work with safe and efficient equipment, defining the requirements on a case-by-case basis. There are many factors that will be taken in consideration to decide on going with a ladder, a scissor lift, or a boom lift, or even build a scaffold if required. Our sign installers are excellent, and know what to do!
ACM panels are very durable; they will last for a minimum of 5 years on average, dependent on sun exposure. Cut out 3d letters need to have proper maintenance done in order to be durable. The same applies for under the awning signs, in particular lightboxes.
We may be able to assist, depending on the design project. The clients should approach the requisite council and landlord or seller and discuss the project. Platinum Signs can assist where possible. Obviously when it comes to the stage of council permits to be issued, we will organise forms to be filled out from our end. We can certainly advise based on previous experience.
Our sign design team is passionate about designing the best signs in Sydney as well as all across Australia. We certainly can do design work. Our team works with many design agencies not just in Sydney or Melbourne but across Australia as well as independent designes, architectural firms and interior design companies on various projects. At times we have collaborated with their designers, while at other times, clients need full assistance with consultation and creation of design concepts. Our in house designers can help you with your 3D Design needs.
Yes, we provide sign installation via our team in Sydney as well as a strong network of qualified sign installiation specialists in other cities across Australia. Give us a call to discuss your project in detail.
Absolutely! We have a number of other signage companies we work with who partner with us to get anything from acrylic 3d signs to lightboxes, metal 3d signs and so on . We are constantly aiming to form long term partnerships with signage providers that perhaps do not have the right equipment, space or time involved to dedicate in producing illuminated signs. We also work often with fit out companies that at times opt to use their own tradesmen to install they order or prefer our assistance to do so.
Our in-house design team can match almost every style or design and provide best-in-class guidance about your look and brand. We design all types of signs. We can also advise as to where and how it can be best deployed. While exceptionally large and complex designs may require specific solutions, our sign design team will clearly present these issues at the start of the process and allow them to be fully addressed.
We have strict processes in place to make sure we keep up the high standards our clients expect for our signs. It all starts with an initial consultation, over the phone, at the client’s premises or we welcome clients to come to our sign workshop in Sydney. From there on we will discuss materials, budget, what is possible to achieve based on designs and building limitations, if any are applicable. Then we move on to the mock-up phase. Once that is approved, neon signs go to production. You can usually expect a 2-4 week turnaround time, depending on the complexity and quantity involved. The final stage involves the installation by our professional signwriters. Or, we can organise the delivery for your team to work on it.
Without knowing the specifics of your particular sign, it can be hard to give out a ballpark figure. All signs are different, and many variables go into what makes them a certain price. We are able to work with most budgets, so please feel free to get in contact with our team for a quote. Simpler, standard ones range from $1100 to $1600 on average, depending on the size involved, being single sided or double sided print. The ones that are fully customised, full acrylic boxes, push through letters added or custom shaped ones can go considerable up, depending on the size and complexity of the project ranging on average around $2500 to $4000.
This all depends on the complexities of the lightbox, but a good approximation is around two to three weeks. We can confirm a date after we discuss your particular needs. We may be able to have quicker turnaround for standard size ones, potentially delivering the order within a week.
Generally, the light will do all the work for you, but it is best to keep the design reasonably simple. Many businesses have found that a logo and brand messages are more than enough to attract new clients. You can print out your design on paper and hold it over a light source to have a rough idea of what it may look like.
In the past lightboxes used fluorescent tubes. However, a better method is with more modern LEDs. LED lightboxes are considerably more cost effective to run, have an increased lifespan, and come with minimal maintenance requirements.
The style of lightbox you’ll go with largely depends on where it is installed. We have single sided lightboxes to install on walls, or double sided ones that are ideal under awnings, or on top of buildings. We also have 3D lightboxes that include ‘push through’ lettering for a unique look.
In many cases our lightboxes are installed externally, so we fully understand that they need to be durable and hold up against all sorts of weather conditions. They are made of steel and aluminium to help strengthen the box. When considering different quotes, it is important to ask what the internal structure is made from. Cheaper lightboxes generally use cheaper materials and may not last as long as others.
LED neon lighting can be delivered in a vast array of colours. Dimmers can also be used to brighten or soften the lights. Amongst the most popular colours are: Warm white Pure white Red Green Blue Pink Yellow Orange Purple
On average, you can expect your custom led neon signs to be ready in 3 to 4 weeks. The delivery will vary a lot depending on the shape and style you are after. But as a general rule, your sign should be ready to be installed or dispatched within that timeframe.
On average, neon signs cost anywhere from $400 to $1000. Our signs are as affordable as can be, but sign costs will vary considerable depending on quantity: Are you after a one off or is it going to be mass produced for a retail chain? It will also depend on the style desired – Flex neon is much more affordable than 180 and 360 led neon signs, which are a lot more complex to be produced. It is certainly cheaper to produce vs traditional neon signage. It is also way safer to handle and much more energy efficient.
Traditional neon signs – At first, neon signs were made using the old school way, using glass. These had to be hand crafted into the desired letters or shapes. Then gas is added to the tubes. This produces the fluorescent light, which folks identify as ‘neon.’ It looks really cool, but it is a dying art as it is far more complex, expensive and time consuming to be produced, apart from being a heavy energy user and fragile as well due the fact it is built using glass. LED neon signs – These are fabricated with the use of LED which stands for Light Emitting Diodes. They are connected with each other, which then created a reliable source of light and in the case of flex led neon, it comes with an acrylic backing which can be cut to shape or produced in a particular shape, in most cases the backing acrylic is transparent, but depending on the application, there are multiple colours to choose from and even combination of application of vinyl over a backing panel or direct printing if a pattern is involved in the design. The backing acrylic prevents the flex tubes from losing their shape as they are very flexible.
We have strict processes in place to make sure we keep up with the high standards our clients expect for our led neon signs. It all starts with an initial consultation, over the phone, at the client’s premises or we welcome clients to come to our sign company business in Sydney. Next, we will discuss materials, budget, what we can achieve based on designs and building limitations, if any are applicable. Third, we move on to the mock-up phase. Fourth, once that is approved, the neon signs go to production. You can usually expect a 3-4 week turnaround time, depending on the complexity and quantity involved. The final stage involves the installation by our professional signwriters. Finally, we can organise the delivery for your team to work on it.
There are a myriad of styles you can choose from when it comes to LED Neon signs, as per imagery shown in this page. The flex tube neon is more limited when it comes to intricate shapes and colours vs what can be achieved with 180 and 360 led neon design. The flex neon does require a backing acrylic panel, which is not required for the other styles.

We also work with polypropylene and corflute for shorter term applications. For outdoor safety signs, you can expect the signs to last from 4 to 5 years before the colours fade, depending on sun exposure.

As a standard it comes with rounded corners and can come with pre-drilled holes for easy installation. • Metal (ColorBond) – 0.55mm thick sheet metal. Same as poly signs, it comes with rounded corners and can be pre-drilled with holes for easier mounting. Metals signs are very durable, heavy duty and great for long term use inside and outside in the harsh weather conditions of Australia. These signs are suitable for both inside and outside application. • ACM – 3mm thick Aluminium Composite Panel – Printable on UV direct printer or reflective film can be applied over • Brushed ACM – Commonly used for directional signage, stylish and easy to print on, 3mm thick. • Pure aluminium and anodised aluminium – Vastly used for architectural signage, refined look to impress and very long lasting. Panels are 1.4 to 1.6mm thick. • Magnet sheets – Great solution to apply to metal surfaces without the need for any mounting or for temporary signage.
Absolutely, we print signs on a daily basis. Many projects involving custom signs for various industries, ranging from councils, to construction signs, companies that need unique signs, safety signs with company logo added and so on. Indeed, a lot of the directional signage that we produce is ‘custom signage.’

How much does boat wrapping cost? This is the most common question we get related to boat wrap. It is the same as asking, how much does a boat itself cost or a car for that matter. The answer is relative to the size and the shape of the boat to be wrapped, as well as differing in case you want solid colours, cut out lettering or vinyl print wrap applied. If you want the interior of the boat wrapped, that can also very a lot depending on the finish involved. As a general rule, you would be looking at circa $1000 – $1500 per small boat partial wrap, boat lettering may be as little as $400 – $500.
We only use the best vinyl in the market for boat wrapping, using mostly 3m and Avery marine wrap range. We also use 3m primer edge sealant for optimum preparation prior vinyl application. If you look after the wrap and do proper cleaning on it. It should last for a long time but obviously over the years, it will ultimately fade and it will have to be replaced. Colour vinyl that comes from the manufacture will always outlast printed vinyl, even when you overlaminate the prints. You can expect up to 7 years durability for the colour vinyl and around 4 to 5 for the printed option. That said, it will vary a lot depending on how well you look after it and how much sun exposure the boat will have. If the boat is docked at a marina 24/7 vs one that is berthed in a dry warehouse, the latter will certainly outlast the longevity of the former.
Boat wrapping is not easy! Thus, we do not think DIY boat wraps are a good idea, unless you are experienced with vinyl wrap. As much as we have a policy to use the best marine vinyl in the industry, in order to perfectly install the vinyl. Best-in-class boat wrapping comes down to experience, and we have lots of that! You can have the best vinyl in the market and execute it poorly leaving lots of marks and bubbles down the track if it is not done right from start. The cleaning process prior the application is just as important as the quality of the product and the skills to wrap the boat.
We have a shop located in Leichhardt. It is located near the marinas in Sydney. We can also send our staff onsite for application and have a network of installers in the major cities across Australia to assist on commercial projects involving multiple wraps. For smaller boats, we have the capacity to wrap within our workshop. Otherwise, we can organise installers to go to the pier or boathouse where it is being stored to carry out the application. For large vessels, it is common to require the use of high reach equipment such as a scissor lift or boom lift.
As a general rule, we need the vessel for a number of days. It will take far less time, if it is just vinyl lettering or minor strips involved. Full boat wrap, as well as intricate internal areas can take a number of days to achieve the desired result.
Yes, we can print the artwork involved again, or add solid vinyl as per original to replace the areas that got damaged in case something goes wrong. In saying so, if the wrap has been in the boat for a long time, it would have reacted with the sun and other elements. Thus, it will be harder to match the original wrap in which case you may be advised to change over the whole wrap.
The main material we work with is acrylic, which is the leading material used for the sign industry in Sydney. We work with a lot of plywood as well on various projects for our clients and trade business partners. We also work with solid timbers, ACM, aluminium, brushed ACM, various other sign boards and composite panels. Not all materials are applicable to cut on both the CNC router and laser cutter. Standard CNC Routing Materials Plastics • Acrylic • PVC • Foamcore • Poilycarbonate • HDPE • Acetal Organic Material • Furniture grade, internal and external plywood • Softwood • Hardwood • Chipboard • Bamboo • Birch Wood • OSD (Oriented Strand Board) Composites • ACM • Brushed ACM • Valchromat (Coloured MDF composite) • GRP (Premium fivberglass sheet) Metal • Aluminium • Anodised Aluminium • Colorbond
In the majority of times we use full sheets, which are 2440mm x 1220mm for both laser and CNC cuts. The height will vary on the specific material to be used, but the router cuts material with up to 50mm thick and the laser up to 40mm. Laser Cutter Bed — 1600mm x 1100mm CNC Router Bed — 2440mm x 1220mm
Yes, you sure can. We welcome you to bring your own material, but keep in mind, that a number of materials can be harmful to our machines and, most critical, to our operators, in particular for laser cutting. Therefore, it is best to call ahead and discuss your options.
Each project is unique. Feel free to give us a call or drop us an email enquiring what is the best method of cutting. Our friendly team will be more than willing to guide you through. We generally combine the best of both worlds for bespoke custom projects of our clients. Both technologies have it is own merits and disadvantages over the other.
Our standard lead time is 5 business days, that said, it depends a lot on the size of the project. For basic cutting, we can have usually your cut ready in the same day. We also offer rush cutting services upon availability for an extra fee (to be confirmed and dependant on the size of your project).
Unfortunately, due to the working conditions, we do not have a place that you can wait safely. We run a busy and tight space area and would prefer you to come back at an arranged time to collect your project.
The usual turnaround from the moment the quote is approved and we have the files ready to cut in hand is 1 to 2 days for smaller, straightforward cuts in smaller scale. Large projects or projects with complex CNC router cutting involved can take longer, often demanding testing as well, and could take anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks to complete. Trade partner / wholesales cutting services – We do understand that time is of the essence, and we do our very best to assist our trade clients in a speedy manner giving preference and working overtime on projects with tight deadlines. Give us a call on 1300 448 608, come into our office for a chat at 12 Upward St Leichhardt or email to info@platinumsigns.com.au to discuss your next CNC Router cutting project.
Our preference is to work with .dxf format. That said, we can work as well with .ai .dwg .pdf .svg. A CAD drawing is a must to commence any machining. In case you don’t already have a CAD file handy to send to us, or else if you are not in a position to organise the creation of one we are willing to assist. So long as we are referring to simpler cuts involved. We do not do any creation of 3d drawings for trade customers. The purpose of us proving you with a CAD service is to get your project ready for cutting. We do not provide stand-alone design services. Our focus is on assessing files and cutting in large scale, being able to pass competitive prices for our clients.
Enquiry Are you after original artwork? Have you already got one? What will it be used for? A shop, an exhibition stand, a vehicle wrap, panel printing, 3d custom signs? Design A face to face consultation is always best. If that is not possible, then we can also do virtual meetings with Zoom for an instance. We will go straight to the point and not waste your time over jargon, setting the process off on the right track. Sign-off Once the design is completed, it needs to be signed off. We will then supply you with the files in various formats. In the majority of cases the design is tailored for a specific product but if a general identity has been designed, Platinum Signs can assist producing all your signage requirements.
Of course, the answer is: ‘it depends.’ The cost of the sign design will vary considerable depending on the complexity of the artwork involved, the requirement of presenting realistic mock-ups or not. We typically work based on an hourly rate. For vehicle signage design, we suggest having realistic mock-ups done prior commencing any work.
For simple artwork, such that used as safety signs, simpler panel printing containing mostly written information and basic imagery and / or logo, we can usually finalize artwork within the same day or the day after. For other projects, we can revert back. Naturally some projects are more demanding and also heavily rely on the concept and design given in depth and can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to be completed. Reach out to our sign design team for more information and help.
Unfortunately not, Internet-based images are not suitable for sign. They are just a starting point. We need high-resolution files, PDF or vector files to fabricate, CNC router or laser cut and for printing signs. Printing out of low resolution images would compromise the quality of the product we deliver. The image would come out all pixelated which would be a substandard product. But, you can source an image on the Internet as a starting point, and let our sign design team take that concept and work with you to create the necessary high-resolution files.
Absolutely! In many cases, clients outsource the design of their signage, or have a preferred design agency in Sydney or elsewhere, or we can refer you to design agency and independent graphic designers to achieve results in a speedy manner. Our friendly team of sign designers is always happy to discuss directly with your design team in order to streamline the processes involved, if needed.
• It is best suited for materials that are flat and no more than 20mm thick, however it is possible to engrave thicker material • The area to be cut or engraved should be flat. • Glass, stone, and ceramics can not be cut using the laser, but they can be engraved and the effect looks amazing • PVC cannot be cut or engraved as it releases noxious and corrosive gasses which are harmful to staff and equipment • There may be some scarring or discolouration on the edges of some materials, however this can usually be avoided on the face of the material
Plastic Laser Cutting Plastics suitable for laser are amongst the easiest materials for the laser cutter. These can be cut to form intricate patterns and highly accurate representations. The laser is much faster than many other methods of cutting including using a router. You’ll get a higher amount of flexibility and speed with a laser cutter that you do not get with other methods, all of this can save on your overall costs. At Platinum Signs we can cut a range of different plastic materials up to an overall thickness of 20mm, this includes: • Polycarbonate • Plexiglass • Polyethylene • ABS • PETG Acrylic, or Perspex, is one of the most widely used materials and available for many different applications. We have a huge variety of acrylics in stock (of varying thickness), and we can cut any of these to your desired size. Timber Laser Cutting All sorts of different timber can be cut with the laser cutter, provided it is not greater than 20mm thick. The types of timber that can be used include: • Solid timber • Hardwood • Plyboard • MDF • Die Board • Timber Veneers • Balsa • Cork All timber cut with the laser printer will be left with a darkened edge, and this often helps to make the piece aesthetically pleasing as it provides a contrasting outline. The laser is also capable of engraving feature panels, wood inlays, toys, craftwork, souvenirs, decorative items, and architectural models. Miscellaneous Laser Cutting There are many other items that can be cut on the laser cutter, some of these include: • Leather • Paper and Cardboard • Corrugated Cardboard • Strawboard • Coreflute • Fabrics – cotton, silk, linen, felt The laser cutter is perfect for creating patterns, models, graphic design work, and many more. It is ideal for crafting corporate keepsakes and branding that can give your business a personal touch.
One of the most common uses for laser cutting in the signage industry is vector cutting (this can be completed with 0.01mm accuracy). Working with our laser machine and the CNC router together means that you can expect a huge variety of potential cutting that suits most signage and display projects. The lasers have the ability to transform acrylic sheets, wooden products, or cardboard into a final product that can add value to wherever it is installed. For the signage industry you have many options when it comes to making use of laser cutting technology, some examples include: • Illuminated logos and letters, cut or engraved into acrylic for advertising • Contour cuts to make your illuminated letters stand out • Acrylic panels marked, or engraved, for use in large format LED lit surfaces • Banners and flags cut to a determined size • Displays cut or engraved into a variety of shapes • Polished finishes achieved through the laser cutter (which is superior to that achieved on a CNC cutter)
Yes, we have our own team of sign installers as well as a strong network of qualified sign contractors to assist with the installation of our projects involving any quantity of ACM panels, from single panels to multiple ones forming a large sign. It is an excellent option to make sure you can easily wipe off the panels when vandals spray them instead of having to reprint them all. Anti-graffiti lamination for signs comes only in gloss finish only.
Certainly, the more signs you buy, the better the price we can provide you with. More of the same print also assist reducing the cost vs multiple artwork setup. We offer unbeatable trade prices too, feel free to call us to discuss your requirements.

The maximum size we can supply is 3000mm x 1500mm. Please note, oversized panels will have a considerable higher cost for transportation, we are limited to shipping oversized panels within Sydney Metro.
We work with a wide range of colours with all basic ones available. The most common coulours for signage are printable white ACM sheets as well as black and brushed finished ACM panels.
In most cases, we have a quick turnaround of 1-3 days after artwork approval. Depending on the complexity of the project involved and with the use of CNC router cutting of complex shapes, V grooving ACM or large size orders, the standard turnaround is 5-7 days for dispatch.
As a standard, we do laminate all ACM panel prints with a matte or gloss finish. We always recommend having the panels laminated, in particular for outdoor applications. However, we can also do cost-effective printing of them with no lamination. This might work just fine depending on the internal application involved, for shorter term.
We offer very affordable signs, not just in Sydney or Brisbane but throughout Australia. How? We mass produce ACM panels which gives us an edge over other suppliers. Due to the fact that we produce multiple panels, not just a few like many smaller companies, we have economies of scale. This allows us to negotiate better pricing with our suppliers, and pass the cost savings to our customers. Doing direct printing to the majority of ACM panels also gives us the ability to produce fast, with instant curing of the ink, ready to go straight to the lamination process. Following these processes allows us to provide great quality prints at lower costs than most competitors.
Lettering – Basic signage, usually logo and information added to the sides of truck and cabin. Partial wrap – Cost effective, creative wraps can cover only partially the truck, making use of the original colour in a harmonic way. Full wrapping – The most popular as well as the most effective way to bring new leads to your business with the truck on the road. It can completely transform the vehicle, that is transforming it from a plain truck into an outdoor advertising tool.
The entire process of measurement of the vehicle > artwork approval > printing > lamination > installation can take anywhere from 5 to 10 days. The truck wrapping installation itself which involves the time it takes us to wrap the truck will take anywhere from 1/2 day to 2-3 days, depending on the size of the vehicle and factors such as wrapping the Pantech only or the cabin as well.
Truck wrapping can last a long time; it depends, of course, on materials, use, and quality. It also depends on the quality of the material, chosen as well as the skillfulness of the truck wrapping installers. Adequate vehicle wrapping, cast vinyl combined with matte or gloss lamination, should last anywhere from 4-6 years or longer, depending on a number of factors such as the truck being fully exposed to the sun or being kept in a depot when not in use. We use the best vinyl available in the Australian market, with world known brands like 3m, Avery Denison and Orafol.
As a standard rule, all trucks we wrap are laminated, unless the purpose of the wrap is for a short term application, such as a short promotion for a dealer shop or a brand activation campaign. The lamination of the vinyl will assist the longevity of the truck wrapping. It comes with matte or gloss finish as the most popular ones, but we also have satin as an alternative. It is certainly worth investing in laminating the film as it adds an extra layer of protection against the UV rays and minor scratches, not adding a lot in the overall cost.
Some types of vinyl can come off really easy, while others can last a long time. There are several factors to be considered: • Quality of the vinyl used. • How long the vinyl has been applied for – The longer, the harder to remove • Cut out vinyl is harder to remove than printed panels. • Horizontal application such as bonnets and roof will usually take substantially longer than vertical surface such as the sides of the vehicle.
Yes, we offer graffiti-proof lamination, which is a film mounted over the printed graphics with large lamination machines. That reduces substantially the chances of the sprayed / painted vandalism to stick on as long as you take action is taken quickly to remove it.
It should not. In fact, it should enhance the protection of the paint against UV rays. So long as the paint in the cabin or Pantech, the area that will be vinyl wrapped has original painting. However, we cannot 100% guarantee the duration and quality of paint, as everything ages even if ‘protected’ by trap wrap. As it is not possible to distinguish with accuracy if the paint that is on when the vehicle is brought to us is original or not. We can guarantee that all vinyl we apply is of the highest standard in the industry, and should not peel the paint if the paint is original.
Absolutely, we can do that for you, but that will delay the installation process as well as incur costs of our installers doing the cleaning service first prior wrapping the truck. It is fundamental that the truck is in pristine conditions to be ready for the signage application as that is a determining factor for a successful truck wrapping. In case we need to clean prior the application, that will delay the wrapping as we will need the vehicle in house for an extra day until it dries completely, there are costs associated to that, so best to avoid it bringing it in clean conditions.
Truck wrapping is really cool. We’re known as one of the best truck wrap shops not just in Sydney but in Melbourne, Brisbane, etc. We do fleet wraps for all of Australia for branding purposes. As for helping with the design of truck wrap, of course we can help. We have in-house design team that can create amazing designs. For truck wrap design services, we always ask for clients to make an appointment for a meeting to discuss the project, ideally also bringing the vehicle to be wrapped in. Alternatively, send us an email with the project spec’s as complete as possible, stating the vehicle make and model, design ideas, reference of work related to it, graphics to be sent in high resolution and a complete description of what you are trying to achieve.
There are a number of things to consider when wrapping the Pantech of a truck: 1. Does it have smooth metal panels or is it corrugated? Corrugated panels are more challenging and can take considerable longer. The straight panels are much simpler to wrap. 2. The size is obviously a big factor, as a general rule a small Pantech with 4m x 2m both sides and rear doors will cost around $3000 plus GST. A large 7m long Pantech would cost around $5000 plus GST. 3. Does it have a nose cone to be wrapped? That can be a very challenging part to wrap and will also add considerable on costs. A common alternative to that is to use just cut out lettering with basic information instead.
The cost of any type of sign depends on the complexity and materials. It will depend on the area involved and how intricate it is. The more elements that are involved, the more challenging it can be. We have a top-rated in-house sign design team, and they are able to assist achieve the best results with client’s budget in mind.
The cost of a truck wrap (including wrapping a truck cabin) will vary depending on the model and the exact parts are required to be wrapped. It is important to consider the desire to wrap the back of the cabin or not, as a common practice is to wrap ends in the corners to avoid excessive costs. Some clients want to wrap the roof and frontal bumper. This all depends on the budget and/ or design involved and style of the cabin involved. In summary the cost of truck wrapping varies on a case-by-case basis.
The length of your car wrapping job will depend on how complex it is to complete. However, as a general guide, you can expect to be without your car for one to two days while it is being wrapped. After the design of any car wrap is finalised, it’ll take seven-ten days to print and install.
The best way to maintain your car wrap in excellent condition is to keep your car clean. Hand washing is the preferred method of any vehicle that has a car wrap installed. While a jet sprayer will clean your car faster, this can damage the wrap due to high pressure, so stick to a regular hose sprayer. You should only wash your car with the recommended detergents and warm water. It is highly recommended that you clean the outside of your car at least once a week. Anything that could potentially damage the vinyl (bird droppings, tar, tree sap, bugs, etc.) should be cleaned off as soon as possible. In addition, vinyl graphics can fade over time, just like car paint. Try to leave your car in a shaded area when parked for long periods. Ideally, your car should be stored parked in a garage. If this is not possible, you can invest in a car cover to protect your investment.

With current LED technology, the expense of running an illuminated sign has been dramatically reduced. If you have an existing illuminated sign running on standard bulbs, then you may find cost savings of up to 80%. While LEDs are more expensive at the beginning, the savings you’ll achieve in reduced energy consumption make it worthwhile. LED lights also have a reduced maintenance cost and life. Affordable signage has a new name: illuminated signs.
Illuminated signs can last a long time. We use only the best-in-class materials vis-a-vis your budget. All the illuminated signs created at Platinum Signs are made with consideration as to where they will be installed. Provided they are appropriately maintained, you’ll get many years of use out of illuminated signage as well as other types of materials.
Signage can build your business. Custom signs are a key component of effective marketing. The most important part of any sign is that it should be read and understood in the shortest possible time. Working with our design team, we can take you through all the effects you can achieve with illuminated signs. At our business location, we have many examples that will demonstrate what effects can be achieved with illuminated signs, LED signs, and other types of custom signage. Some effects that can be achieved include halo, front only, and side only illuminations. Our sign design experts are ready and waiting to work with you to achieve the effects you want.
The best illuminated sign is one that delivers your message in the least amount of time. Light brings attention and illuminated signs can realy be the best signage for your business. In addition, your sign should provide enough information to allow your potential customers to understand what you do, and how they can find your business. At Platinum Signs, we are happy to assist with the design of your sign so that it’s the best sign for your business needs.
There are many questions you need to ask yourself when planning out your sign and signaged needs. What is the most important information you need people to see? Is there anything that is not necessary? Often signs are bloated with information, and this can have a negative effect. Good signs will deliver their message in the shortest amount of time. If you need to include a lot of information, you can always add that to a smaller sign after a larger one has done the job of drawing people in. Consider the location of your sign. For example, if you’re installing a sign where people are moving quickly (e.g., in their cars), you only have a small amount of time to deliver your message. However, if your sign is placed in a location where people are waiting or walking (reception areas, shopping centres, etc.), you can give them a sign that includes more detail. Consult with our signage experts and we can design a custom sign plan for your business.
Installing a sign means having it placed in a location that will benefit your business the most. Many signs are simply installed without much consideration given to visibility. Just as in real estate, people say it’s ‘location, location, location.’ Your sign should be installed in a location where it will provide the largest impact. For illuminated signs, this means making sure everyone can see the sign both day and night. Identify where your traffic is, and create eye-catching signs with colors, light, and location.
All your business signs should support with your business and its brand. For this reason, it is imperative that all signs are on message. In all cases, they should support your brand. Having signs produced in a similar style, using your associated colours, and brand identity is the ideal way to support a brand. At Platinum Signs, you can work with our designers, and they’ll examine your brand and suggest signs that will really support your brand!
An illuminated sign is an investment, and looking after it means it’ll last, providing you with better value over time. Regularly examine the sign and check for signs of damage and wear. If your signs are installed outside, they are most susceptible to damage caused by the environment and human interaction. If you notice any problems that cannot be fixed by cleaning, you can call Platinum Signs for maintenance and repairs.
Regular cleaning should be carried out to maintain your sign. LED illuminated signs can be cleaned with warm soapy water. Use a mild detergent, such as regular dish soap. Avoid using harsh scrubbing brushes as these can scratch the surface and affect the look of the sign. Instead, you can use a regular sponge (without a scouring side) and a clean towel to dry the sign. To leave the sign without any water spots, you can use a microfiber cloth to dry it thoroughly. If your sign is installed outside, then you may, on occasion, need to spot clean it. You can use a spray bottle cleaner, such as Windex, and a clean cloth. Avoid using paper towels as these may break up and cause a mess, and you should also avoid using any harsh or abrasive cleaning products.

For Perspex panel prints, it takes 24 to 48 hours to produce them if the artwork is ready to go. In the instance of having complex cut outs, such as 3d Perspex lettering printed or vinyl wrapped, the usual lead time is 5 to 7 days.
We have in -house specialized installers and a wide network of installers for nationwide projects. If you are after Perspex panels, you have the option of adding standoffs, panel mounts for easy installation doing yourself or hiring a handyman. The thickness ranges from 2mm to 40mm. The most popular for thicknesses, for large scale flat panel printing would be 3mm and 4.5mm. The 10mm thick boards are commonly used for reception Perspex and 3d cut lettering, along with 20mm thick sheets.
Black and white Perspex panels are very popular. We also work with several other colours. All basic ones such as blue, yellow, red, green, grey as well as special Perspex panels like gold, metallic, frosted, matte and fluorescent.
Cast opal Perspex is the right choice when the intention is to let light shine through for lightboxes and 3d illuminated signs. We certainly do this sort of work; it is one of our strongest selling products.
Absolutely. Clear Perspex signs are commonly used on reception signs to have the logo and lettering cut out applied only. It is also popular for 3d cut out lettering printed when there is a necessity to achieve specific colours for branding. We also do UV direct printing on clear Perspex panels. This gives a great sense of depth to the print, further enhancing the look and feel of the Perspex print.
We also do intricate cuts for architectural projects, point of sale displays, 3d Perspex signs, and others.
The Perspex panels which are laser cut are; the router cut ones are not.
Perspex is a sturdy, waterproof material, which can be installed outside. Cut out lettering should present no problems, and under awning Perspex lightboxes would be fine as well. We do not recommend the use of Perspex panels for panels which are fully exposed to the sun. For outdoor panels, long term application, we recommend ACM – Aluminium composite panels. For cut out lettering Perspex there is no problem with possible expansion of the material as the panels would have so that is doable to applied exposed to the sun. Each signage project is unique, and whether or not acrylic / Perspex is applicable, depends. Contact our design team and we can advise you.
Perspex surfaces are printed directly on the surface with a special UV ink. This can be done on both sides to craft unique customized signage. It is possible to print all sorts of images including, letters, numbers, and symbols. It is even possible to print a fully coloured logo in addition to other images and photographs.

Visual merchandising enhances the aesthetic appeal of a product or a store, which can significantly influence customer behaviour. By displaying products in an enticing way, customers are more likely to be drawn towards them and make a purchase. Effective visual merchandising can also guide customers through the store, promote new or seasonal products, and create an immersive shopping experience that encourages customers to spend more time (and money) in the store.
Absolutely! Visual merchandising is not exclusively for large businesses or retail chains. It is a powerful tool that businesses of all sizes can utilise to attract customers and drive sales. In fact, small businesses often have the advantage of a unique personality and can create more personalised and innovative displays. At Platinum Signs, we work with businesses of all sizes to create effective and affordable visual merchandising solutions.
The frequency of updating visual merchandising displays depends on various factors such as the type of products, store traffic, season, and sales calendar. Generally, window displays should be updated every one to two months, while internal displays can be updated as often as weekly. Seasonal displays should be updated in line with current seasons or holidays. Regular updates keep the retail environment fresh and engaging, encouraging repeat visits from customers.
Lighting plays a crucial role in visual merchandising. It not only helps draw attention to specific products or displays but also enhances the overall mood and ambiance of a store. Strategic lighting can highlight particular products, create contrasts, and make colours appear more vibrant. Additionally, different types of lighting can evoke different emotional responses from customers, influencing their shopping experience. Proper lighting is therefore key to an effective visual merchandising strategy.

However, different rules may apply for rear windows or other types of vehicles, so it's always best to check the current regulations or consult with a professional before getting your windows tinted.

For the front side windows (driver and passenger windows), the tint must allow at least 35% of visible light to pass through. This means that the darkest legal tint for these windows is 35%. For the rear windows and rear windshield, the regulations are less strict, and a darker tint is generally permissible. Regardless, it's essential to ensure that the driver's visibility is not significantly impaired. These rules are in place to ensure road safety for all users.

While privacy window films are effective during the day due to the external light being brighter than the inside, the same doesn't hold true at night. Typically, one-way privacy films might not offer complete nighttime privacy, especially if the interior lights are on.
For effective daytime privacy, reflective window film is an excellent option. This type of privacy film allows you to see out without allowing those outside to see in, making it a favorite for many homeowners and businesses.
Absolutely. Apart from ensuring privacy, these films also protect against UV rays, preventing damage and fading of furnishings. Their dual-purpose nature makes them a valuable addition to any property.
For some degree of nighttime privacy, dual-reflective window films can be effective. These films reflect more light on the brighter side, typically outside during the day and inside during the night, depending on your interior lighting.
Window films are usually installed on the inside of the window to shield them from external elements, ensuring better durability and longevity. Although there are exterior films, interior ones are typically favored for their perceived performance and endurance.

An acrylic print is a form of art where an image gets a new lease of life. Printed behind a sheet of premium acrylic glass, the image benefits from enhanced color vibrancy, increased depth, and a luminous glow. This is largely because the acrylic sheet acts as a light refractor, illuminating the image in a way traditional prints cannot achieve. It’s not just about the aesthetics; the acrylic layer also serves as a protective shield against potential damage, ensuring longevity.
Acrylic printing is versatile. There are primarily two methods: Direct to Substrate Printing: Here, the image is printed directly onto the acrylic surface. UV-cured ink is used, which bonds with the surface upon exposure to UV light. The result? A vibrant, long-lasting print. Surface Mounted Printing: In this method, an image is printed onto a high-quality paper or another medium. This print is then mounted behind an acrylic sheet. The final look is rich with a beautiful interplay of depth and color.
Both mediums have their merits. Acrylic prints boast of unmatched depth and clarity, turning any image into a visual treat. The light-refracting properties of acrylic enhance the colours, making them pop. Metal prints, on the other hand, are incredibly durable. They are resistant to scratches, moisture, and even flames. While they offer a unique aesthetic, they may not match the depth offered by acrylic. That said, their resilience, especially in high moisture areas, gives them an edge.
Acrylic prints are built to last. Internally displayed, these prints can remain in pristine condition for several decades. The protective nature of acrylic ensures that the prints are shielded from dust, light, and minor abrasions. When placed externally, factors like direct sunlight, rain, and external pollutants come into play. Even then, with proper care, they can easily last 4-5 years, post which they might require some maintenance for continued vibrancy.
Acrylic has found its niche in the business world. Establishments, especially those aiming for a modern and upscale aesthetic, opt for acrylic signs and prints. The depth and vibrancy of acrylic make logos and brand messages stand out, drawing the viewer's attention. Moreover, they are often used in boardrooms, lobbies, and corridors to display company achievements, vision statements, and other pivotal information. Given their durability, they become a long-term investment, echoing the brand's values for years.
